The project is coming back to life #Devlog 1
Im able to work on this project again after this break, and have already started tinkering with it.
Im thinking of starting a devlog since i want to focus on less frequent updates but containing more content in them. Althought im still working alone, while working full time, i dont have a lot of time to work on the game not talking about the ideas and motivation that have to go along with the time.
Back to the Devlog. I have some ideas to make the game more strategically advanced, one of them is adding an ammunition system that balances the rapid fire turrets and the strat to spam low upgrade turrets. That change will come with a set of Buffs for base towers and paths that rely on high attack speed to make them more worth it with the high maintanence cost they will then have.
Im also thinking of adding some kind of population resource that will work the same way, adding a balance metric to some of the stronger turrets so they have to be supplied with yet another resource. Those changes are planned after i make a new HQ screen with new feature of Generals.
Generals will be game changeing passives that rotate the gameplay around by being better at certain type of gameplay. Right now i have two generals in mind. One of them will revolve around mobility, so making the refund of selling towers a 100% so you can relocate the tower, but increasing the price of placing and upgrading new ones. The other will be a mass strategy where i think i will make the resources, buying new turrets and low upgrades cheaper for stronger early game defence, while making higher upgrades more expensive (Maybe some buff if you have x amount of towers on the map).
Also a new unit is in work. I can say that its going to be a Uptime DOT unit with cool new visuals and animated sprites (I will try to increase the quality of older towers later on), But the problem is my artistic skill. I cant make the FX for the turret to look good so its going to take a while.
That's it for todays devlog, remember that this game is not abandoned, i just dont have enough time to work on it as much as before. Im also looking for a team to help me, I've been asking my friends but sadly most of the people i asked agreed but didnt even start to look at the project... So im going to work alone for quite some time.
